Liturgy for a New Year

Father in Heaven, we are exhausted and bereft.

We believe in your promises, that you shall make all things new.

Hear our cries: for help, for strength, for justice, for mercy.

With you, all things are possible.

Grant us the grace to see your countenance in everyone we meet.

Your grace is new every morning.

Revive our failing faith in moments of fear and despair

That we may walk and not grow faint.

Protect our loved ones, the powerless and the poor, and the healers

You are our refuge and our fortress.

For you are all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful:

Who was and is and evermore shall be.

Father, stay by our side, now and in the dark of the night.

The Way, the Truth and the Light,

And let our cry come unto Thee.
